中国政府が開催した「第14次五カ年計画の高品質な実施」に関する記者会見で、新エネルギー分野の技術・設備が世界をリードしている現状が示された。新エネルギー関連の特許件数は世界全体の4割以上を占め、太陽光発電の変換効率や洋上風力発電の1基あたりの発電容量が世界記録を更新し続けている。さらに、次世代蓄電技術の導入規模は世界一となった。
こうした発展を支えているのは民間経済の力である。電力設備建設分野では、民間企業の比率が85％を超え、年平均成長率も15％を上回る。一定規模以上の充電サービス事業者に占める民間企業の割合も80％以上に達する。電力市場に登録された事業者数は97万社に上り、2020年の5倍に増加した。
また、太陽光発電設備メーカーの大半や風力発電機メーカーの6割以上は民間企業が担っている。さらに、一部の原子力発電プロジェクトでは、民間企業の出資比率が20％に達するケースもある。
